Ukraine counts on the activity of Libya

The Ukrainian side expects the activity of Libya to implement the project of growing crops on the territory of Ukraine for the country. This in an interview said the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Valentina Zalevskaya Tuesday in Tripoli.

Thus Zalevskaya recalled that several years ago, Libya has invited Ukraine to grow crops on 100 hectares of Ukrainian territory.

According to her, now the company Agro-Soyuz “(Dnepropetrovsk region) has proposed to grow crops for Libya on an area of 12 thousand 600 hectares.

Zalevskaya also noted that the terms of this project has not yet been discussed, but in her opinion, “will address the issue of attracting investment is in terms of money.” She said that 12 thousand 600 hectares will be provided by Libya in the lease.
“So far we have a moratorium on land sales and, of course, all legal relationship will be based on existing legislation, it will lease the land,” - she said.

Zalevskaya also said that if the project would be profitable, then we can talk about expanding space. “I think that if this project will work on these areas, then surely we can talk about expanding space,” - she said.
