Ukrainian spy trying to steal from the Russia system to protect aircraft from MANPADS

The general director of one of the Ukrainian companies, was detained by customs officers in Russia’s Bryansk while trying to remove from the RF technical documentation and the main element of the modern system to protect aircraft against MANPADS, Interfax reported, citing sources who participated in the investigation.

According to him, Nikolai Arkhipov tried to smuggle out of Russia top secret infrared lamp, which is a key element of the “unique Russian counter MANPADS systems.

To carry out this operation attacker chose train Moscow-Chisinau, from which it and put off customs.

In the ensuing investigation revealed that Arkhipov on instructions of the Security Service of Ukraine came into contact with Russia’s developers of the device and cunning they lured lamp and documents.

After studying the case materials Bryansk Court appointed a Ukrainian penalty of five months colony. In determining the sentence took into account that Arkhipov actively cooperated with investigators.

According to surveyed by experts, if the lamp was in the Ukraine, then in the near same time it was transferred to the U.S. or other NATO countries.
