BYuT proposes to call the stadium EURO 2012 Bandera name

The stadium, which is being built in Lvov to the European soccer championship in 2012, offered to name the name of Stepan Bandera. This initiative was made member of the Lviv regional council of the BYuT Rostislav Novozhenets.

According to him, assigning stadium named after the leader of Ukrainian nationalists would be “the best answer ill-wishers Bandera” in Russia and Ukraine. “The European Parliament is also not very politely took, asked the new Ukrainian government to cancel a decree on awarding Stepan Bandera Hero of Ukraine”, - said the deputy.

In addition, Novozhenets expressed confidence that his idea supported by most of the people of Lviv and Galicia.

Novozhenets explained his point of view of the fact that in this case the threat of the emergence of ideologically questionable names, for example, “Lemberg” or “Ilyich”.

It is expected that part of the game of the UEFA European Football Championship 2012 will take place exactly in Lviv.
