In January 2010, in Kiev may have difficulties with payment of the gas, the consequence will be problems with transit to Europe. This November 9 on the Ukrainian “5-th channel” said Deputy Prime Minister Tymoshenko Gregory Nemyria.

“Challenges to pay for gas could happen if we continue to break Ukraine’s cooperation with the International Monetary Fund. In December Ukraine will pay more for natural gas on its own, but if the program is delayed until January, then it will be very difficult to do,” - noted Nemyrya . “We do not want a repetition of the situation, when at Christmas have problems with gas deliveries to Ukraine and its transit to Europe” - said in this context, the representative of the Ukrainian government.

Meanwhile, the secretariat of President Yushchenko’s mood even more pessimistic. Thus, the first deputy head of the secretariat Oleksandr Shlapak predicts difficulty with the calculations for natural gas in December. “The country will not be able to pay for gas, if again the IMF does not hold out its hand to us such assistance and do not pay for us,” - said, in particular, he said. According to Shlapak, Ukraine for gas in October by borrowing from the International Monetary Fund of funds that would have given in 2010-2011.
