Litvin pointed to the irresponsibility of Ukraine in relations with Russia

The current policy of the Ukrainian authorities in relation to Russia is irresponsible. This is in an exclusive interview with Itar-Tass said the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Vladimir Litvin. It is registered in CEC presidential candidate, the elections held on 17 January next year.

“Ukrainian authorities’ current policy toward Russia is irresponsible. We must do everything possible to remove the alluvial moments that darken our cooperation and to achieve a normal political dialogue at all levels to meet the challenges of economic, political and international character”, - said Litvin.

He critically assesses the activities of the current head of state Viktor Yushchenko, which took place a freeze of relations between the two neighboring countries. “I am categorical opponent to historical grievances, and his personal position to issue a state line, blaming Russia for the challenges of our shared past - Litvin said. - I do not accept the policy, when Ukraine was trying to stand as a stimulus of a counterweight and deterrent against to Russia. This is not a mission and not the task of Ukraine. “We need to take into account our past, a common history, shared memory, common belief, the kinship of human lives” - added Litvin, noting that about 37 percent of Ukrainians have relatives in Russia. ”

According to Litvin, a not insignificant role in relations between Russia and Ukraine should play a pragmatic economic interest. “Not to mention the humanitarian and cultural spheres - here everything is clear. My conclusion is that - you need a process of natural relations, which will give a positive result”, - said the presidential candidate. He believes: “What is done now - is an attempt to build some dams between Ukraine and Russia, which are popular pressure sooner or later will burst.”
